About

About me

Growing up I've always been passionate about designing clothes and jewellery.

Even as a little girl I was already transforming my grandmother's old blouses into fashionable tops, asking my parents for material to make beaded jewellery, going to art classes and so on.…

I've always had the undying support of my family and friends, through ups and downs, which I believe was the fuel that turned a flame into fire.

They gave me the  strength to work hard to get to where I am now, and still do today to get to where I want to be in the future.

There was a little over a year where I took a break from costumes and jewellery to travel, see the world.

It turned out to be a big source of inspiration for my work, still is...

Especially the nature has been inspirational. Nature is just astonishingly beautiful, and I try now to do little things that can help this beauty to survive.

One of these little things is using recycled material in my jewellery, mostly empty plastic bottles and anything I find which I think is useful.

Even for costumes I prefer using old clothes, old shoes and recyclable material.

What's also been inspring are different cultures, their way of living, their traditions and history.

What interests me most about historical, cultural costumes & jewellery, is their intricacy, the symbolism and not to forget the dying art of craftmanship..

Another  influence in my work is  fantasy, fairytales, anything magical. This branch opens up a whole new kind of costume and jewellery making, and sometimes simply offers an escape from reality, which I think we all need once in a while.

It is not an easy world we live in, and so I know I am very lucky to be able to do what I love.

I would like to say, if you have the chance to do what you love, take it!

Also, take care of yourself, your loved ones and this beautiful planet.

Love,
